Poem: These Sunsick Hearts

Voices carry out past the neon lights

Jealous lovers starting fights

Looking for love, their medicine

Bodies coiled with mysteries

Dancing in the dark is not a sin

Grasping hands and lipstick smiles

Passing dreams and sunless skies

These sunsick, aching hearts

Won’t last throughout the night

These sunsick, empty hearts,

Full of passing fantasies
