Poem: Midnight Sun/Summer Dread

Midnight Sun,

a heart in slumber

Ravage my thoughts

with rainless thunder

Winter soul, With

thoughts too pure

These Summer nights

are not the cure.

Fear locks the door

while I’m still in bed

Darling one more of these

and I’ll wake up dead

Writhing on the floor,

lost in my head.

Darling please, Just

one more of these,

and I’ll end up dead

One way to forget

my Summer Dread.

Midnight Sun

My Summer Dread

A beautiful end, but

I’d rather just sleep instead.
